I am a mom of two kids, Micah is 13 and Audrey is 11. You may see them at the shop some days helping out, or trying to get through this online learning thing. I have the best husband! (Sorry to all the other great husbands out there. I'm biased) My husband Seth is an oncology nurse, an amazing bonus dad to our kids, and supportive partner to me. I also have some incredible behind the scene friends who have supported and helped me along the way through this adventure and many other parts of my life. Some of my hobbies outside of plants include archery, renaissance faires, crocheting, and Roller derby with Lilac City Roller Derby. My passion for plants began while I was living in an apartment during a Spokane winter and feeling that I needed some more green in my life. Before I knew it, one plant to turned into, well, more than I care to count. Although it took a while to make a career in plants it didn’t take long to know that this was what I wanted to do with my life. Three years ago I began attending college where I am pursuing a degree in botany. When I moved into my home near by, the building that Parks Place Plants is in now, was for sale. I promised myself then that I was going to put a plant store there some day. When Covid hit, I was temporarily laid off from my job of 6 years. During that time I threw myself into plants and working on my dream. I got my business license in place, got set up with suppliers and started selling on local plant groups and building up a plant stock. I went back to my old job, but was able to keep the momentum going. In August my dream building had a For Rent sign in the window and my husband came home with the phone number for the landlord. A little spackle, paint, a whole new floor, and some collaboration with local artist brought Parks Place Plants into existence. I have poured my heart and soul into this business and I have been rewarded with incredible connections to those who love and support our community as much as they love plants.
